About 1½ hours east of Phuket
- Thailand, Shark Point, a tiny rock outcropping, and
national official marine sanctuary which is rich of
colorful soft corals and a good variety
of tropical fish. The small rock above the
surface of the water abounds with life
and a huge sensual reef extending
underneath. Strong currents passing over the
pinnacle give food for thousand of different
corals sponges, gorgonian fans and beautiful tropical fish, such as
scorpionfish, yellow boxfish, Blue-ringed
angelfish, eopard (Zebra) shark (Stegastoma Varium),
and emperor angelfish. Those are the icon of the
shark point diving site in Phuket.
